Position Overview
“A Better Pop for a Better World!” JonnyPops’s mission has always been to make high-quality products and to make the world a kinder place. Built from the ground up at St. Olaf College, JonnyPops evolved into a bright, dynamic brand that strives to spread kindness. As a designer within JonnyPop’s Creative Team, I worked on one-off design projects and quick-turn tasks for retailers and the internal team. I balanced multiple design projects, packaging, stickers, swag mocks, and social media posts.
Minnesota State Fair
Social events play a key role in establishing customer loyalty and sharing our mission of spreading kindness with the world. This signage was designed with the intention of sharing JonnyPops' vibrant personality and effectively communicating the delicious treats fans can try at the fair.
Design Approach
While JonnyPops emphasizes whimsy, fun, and magic through sparkles, dynamic layouts, and strong typography, these pieces balance enthusiastic energy with clear communication and gestural movement. The result is an inviting, consumer-friendly design that keeps information straightforward, but never dampens the magical experience JonnyPops creates.
Minnesota Vikings Training Camp
At JonnyPops, we pride ourselves on giving back to the community. That includes events where we donate thousands of pops to fans from all over Minnesota. The Minnesota Vikings Training Camp helps build our fanbase by sharing our pops and our passion for spreading kindness. This T-shirt was designed to advance JonnyPops' pressing mission to the youth.
Design Approach
While honoring JonnyPops’ distinguishing brand style through illustration, this piece incorporates hand-drawn football plays. The result is a nostalgic, football-forward design that conveys JonnyPops’ playfulness and importance in youth sports.
Social Media
Social Media often focuses on product launch, fan experiences, or events, but we regularly refresh the feed with playful and magical graphics for special moments such as JonnyPops milestones and celebrations. In collaboration with the communications team, I created JonnyPops giveaway posts, GIFs, and website splash pages to bring these moments to life.
Email Templates
CRM email marketing is an important tool to extend the JonnyPops brand to potential customers and fans. Often focused on product launches and special offers, these designs are meant to liven up every inbox. Each design aims to capture stunning imagery and movement that captures the personalities of each pop. As a result, consumers can personally connect with their favorite flavors and feel engaged with the brand’s offers.
Merchandise
Across all platforms, JonnyPops strives to uphold its radiance with popping pinks, energetic patterns, and iconic pop imagery. Whether you’re spending time at the lake or shopping at the grocery store, JonnyPops is there with you. These designs capture the classic brand icons of jonnypops, bright personality, and wavy movement that emphasizes the flow across the brand’s visual identity
PR Packaging
Jonnypops truly values making meaningful connections with others. Introducing JonnyPops to potential fans throughout the country is no easy endeavor when it comes to shipping frozen pops 1,000 miles away. As a solution, the JonnyPops team transported pops in packaged coolers encased in a box designed to entice fans to open it promptly. Sticking to the classic JonnyPops pattern, I created a bold design emphasizing faux caution stickers. As a whole, fans get a taste of JonnyPops's vibrancy before ever trying the pops.
Communications & Signage
Whether reaching out to fans or connecting with the internal team, JonnyPops never fails to bring the spunk, personality, and enthusiasm. As a result, I created this office signage and a series of celebration cards to highlight the unwavering positivity JonnyPops’ entire team emulates. Focused primarily on providing options for Spanish speakers and adopting inclusive communication practices that eliminate barriers, I designed these pieces with bold graphics and consistent clarity within text to ensure everyone in the JonnyPops circle feels valued.
